The Richard Tildesley Practice is a friendly, fully independent Ophthalmic practice that was established in Chichester in 1965. We are known for our stylish dispensing, professional Ophthalmic care and excellent personal service.
Sight tests and contact lens fittings are carried out by our highly experienced Optometrists who are more than happy to see patients with complex or difficult prescriptions. Dispensing is only carried out by registered dispensing opticians.
We welcome both private and NHS patients.
At The Richard Tildesley Practice we allow our Optometrists the time they need to give you the bet possible eye care. Not only do we have the latest ocular health technology such as OCT scanning, but we allocate enough time for our optometrists to listen to your concerns, explain the findings of your personalised eye examination and to show you the results of any supplementary tests.
We stock a stylish collection of traditional, contemporary and designer frames and high-quality lenses from a range of suppliers to suit all budgets. We are happy to dispense glasses using prescriptions from other opticians.
We can also fit lenses to your own frame, subject to age and condition of the frame. We have a beautiful spacious dispensing area so that you can take your time choosing frames and lenses, expertly guided by our fully qualified dispensing opticians to ensure that you are delighted with your new glasses.
We have an established professional reputation, built over five decades, with strong links with local NHS and private Ophthalmic consultants.
We have been nominated for Macular Degeneration Optician of the year 2 years running (2014/2015).
In 2017, we invested in OCT technology for our practice. This enables us to scan your retina and detect any early signs of conditions like macular degeneration, macular holes and AMD. It can also help us monitor problems due to high blood pressure, diabetes, glaucoma, corneal abnormalities and even floaters. The benefit of having an OCT scan means that any problems we may detect can be treated quickly and therefore there is less chance of your eyesight being permanently affected.
